Carpet installation

Quiet, comfortable rooms. Properly fitted.

We help you match carpet and cushion to the room, then plan seams, stairs, take-up, furniture, and installation before the crew arrives.

Soft neutral carpet in a finished Fort Wayne bedroom

Where it fits

Choose for the job, not the sample board.

  • Bedrooms and upstairs hallways
  • Family rooms where sound and warmth matter
  • Stairs that need traction and a finished edge

The installation plan

  1. 01

    Match fiber and cushion

We narrow choices by traffic, pets, cleanability, feel, and budget.

  2. 02

    Measure seams and stairs

Carpet width, pattern, room shape, closets, and stairs all affect the order.

  3. 03

    Set the prep plan

We identify take-up, tack strip, floor repairs, doors, and furniture responsibilities.

  4. 04

    Stretch and finish

The crew installs cushion, power-stretches the carpet, trims edges, and cleans up.

Compare before choosing

The category gets you close. The exact product decides the fit.

Specification
Compare fiber, pile construction, density, twist, backing, cushion, and the written stain and wear terms.
Installation
Methods in this category include stretch-in and glue-down. The selected product instructions and conditions in the home determine the method.
Tradeoff
Loops, light colors, and soft fibers can react differently to claws, tracked soil, and repeated traffic.
Price planning
This category can appear across value, mid, premium planning tiers. Pro Build prices the selected product and measured scope instead of publishing an unsupported per-square-foot teaser.

After the crew leaves

Use the floor with a clear handoff.

  • You can usually walk on new carpet immediately.
  • Vacuuming after installation can remove loose fibers from manufacturing and trimming.
  • Fresh carpet may have a temporary odor; ventilation helps it clear.

Straight answers

Carpet questions, answered.

What carpet is best for pets?

Dense, lower-pile carpet with strong stain protection is usually easier to maintain. We also discuss cushion, because spills can reach below the carpet.

Do you use a power stretcher?

The installation scope requires the appropriate stretching equipment for the room and carpet type. This helps prevent early wrinkles and loose areas.

How long does installation take?

Most single-room jobs are completed in a day. Larger or more complicated work may take several days. Your written estimate will spell out the expected schedule before you approve the job.

Can you carpet stairs?

Yes. Open sides, pie steps, landings, patterns, and wrapped edges affect measuring and labor, so the estimator needs to see the stairs.

What should I move first?

Remove clothing, lamps, electronics, breakables, bedding, and everything from closet floors. The estimate will state how larger furniture is handled.

Is old carpet removal included?

It can be. Removal, pad, tack strip, disposal, and any floor cleanup are shown separately in the written scope.
